2017 Georgia Watercolor Society Juried Exhibition

I returned from the Georgia Watercolor Society 2017 National Juried Exhibition on March 11th. The show was held in the beautiful Carrollton Cultural Arts Center in historic Carrollton, GA. Watercolor demonstration- Raleigh, NC skyline

My latest step by step watercolor demonstration is a painting of the skyline of downtown Raleigh, NC.  I am trying to paint a few local scenes. Venice carnival mask- watercolor batik tutorial

Last night I finished a watercolor batik on rice paper of a masked person at Carnivale.  The image was shot years ago on a trip to Venice, Italy. Watercolor batik  is the process of painting on rice paper.  Melted paraffin wax creates a resist and protects the underlying layer from further paint.   When finished you iron the painting with newspaper… (more…)

Illinois Watercolor Society exhibition- Small Waters 2012

A few months ago I entered a small watercolor in the Small Waters Exhibition sponsored by the Illinois Watercolor Society.   As luck would have it, my piece was accepted by juror Suzanne Hetzel, PWS, IWS, LWS.
