June was an insane month- I hung my work at three solo exhibitions (Clayton Arts Center, Chef’s Palette Restaurant in Cary, NC, and Arts of the Albemarle Museum in Elizabeth City). In addition, I taught two evening classes through Wake County Adult Education (Color Theory with Watercolor & Watercolor Loose and Fast).
I also conducted two workshops- a Plein Air Painting class in Elizabeth City (below)…

…and a demonstration/workshop on photographing your artwork in Pittsboro. This is the first time I have taught this subject but I feel it is a skill many painters neglect to learn. As a former board member of the Watercolor Society of North Carolina, I saw all the photographs submitted for our yearly juried exhibition. There were times I had to call members and ask them to reshoot their images, or offer help (no sense wasting your money).
Several years ago I was a judge for Lazy Daze art festival in Cary, NC. When you look at a lot of art, having a great photograph is essential- it makes your work stand out and look professional.

I have more classes coming up, including pouring watercolor, atomizing (impressionistic), kids classes at Artspace, and more. I will be traveling all over the state- Wilson, West Jefferson, and New Bern.
If your organization or art group is interested in a class, please contact as my 2018 schedule is almost booked and I am starting to get inquiries for 2019 and beyond.
Sincerely,
