Two day watercolor workshop with the Community Arts Association in New Jersey

Last week I had the pleasure of teaching two separate one-day workshops on watercolor batik and watercolor pouring in Allendale, New Jersey for the Community Arts Association.

We fit a lot into three days- one demonstration, two separate one-day workshops on watercolor batik and watercolor pouring, and I had the honor of judging the members’ art show.

(Working on the third layer of color and wax for the watercolor batik painting of Bhaktapur in the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal)

(The “almost” finished batik demo from the first day of the workshop)

(Applying a layer of color to the watercolor batik)

(Painting before adding the darkest darks and removing masking fluid)

(Adding the darkest darks of the poured watercolor prior to removing masking)

(Using the Incredible Nib to soften hard edges)

I would like to thank Glenda H for all the hard work putting the events together, and a huge thanks to all the talented artists who attended the workshops.  We covered a lot of new information & techniques in a short time.

Please send me photographs of your finished work- I love to post student’s work to instagram and facebook.

If your watercolor group is interested in learning these techniques please contact me.  2018 is almost completely full and 2019 is filling fast too.
