I returned from the Georgia Watercolor Society 2017 National Juried Exhibition on March 11th. The show was held in the beautiful Carrollton Cultural Arts Center in historic Carrollton, GA. It was a long drive from Raleigh (482 miles). However, it is not every day you get signature status in an a watercolor association (for GWS you have be accepted in 3 of their international juried shows), and I love a good road trip! 🙂
Diana Toma in front of her 2nd place award winning painting. Congratulations.

Show attendee looking giving Gloria Baker’s painting a closer look.

Me looking like a doofus in front of my poured watercolor of Tunisian perfume bottles. 🙂

Suck that gut in!
GWS President Marian O’Shaughnessy and Second Vice President Viviane Van Giesen presenting awards.
Rosie Coleman being presented with her award.
-Dylan Scott Pierce in front of his absolutely amazing painting of a woman from Africa. His use of complementary colors next to each other (with no hard edges) is incredibly difficult to do. Frankly, I don’t know how he does it. Dylan has a series of online courses for anyone interested.
Wish I could attend more of these receptions. Not enough time in the day….
